Technology Review is MIT's magazine of innovation which promotes the understanding of emerging technologies and their impact on business and society. Leaders of emerging growth and global 2000 companies rely on TR's authoritative editorial through the monthly magazine, email newsletters, website, and in-person conferences.

Situation: The client had the enviable challenge of having more advertising demand than could be met in an affordable and timely manner. TR sought creative and cost-effective ways to increase their online audience without exceeding their operational budget.

Services Provided: Online Marketing, Design, Strategy, Vendor Management

Solution: Spears collaborated with the client to design and implement two types of audience development programs: 1) internal content and design strategies that increased visitor activity; and 2) external programs, such as email co-registration and search marketing campaigns, that reached new audiences. Project results revealed that internal content strategies, such as TR's new weblog, proved to have the biggest impact on traffic. Additional analytics needs were also identified to better track the ROI of external campaigns over extended periods of time.
